Saint Michael's Day

Today is Saint Michael's Day and I've almost forgotten it! Sadly.
But, in the end, I've figured out a nice post. I hope.

Michael, the Archangel, is mentioned four times in Scripture. His name means "Who's like God?".
He is often considered a guardian and defender of God's people in a general sense. In a particular sense, Michael is regarded a helper of individuals at the time of their death, rescuing them and escorting their souls to God.
John tells us about him in the Apocalypse (12:7 to 9:): "And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon... And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent called the Devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."

I've found here this beautiful pray:

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the day of Battle;
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
And do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
By the power of God, cast into hell
Satan and all the other evil spirits, who prowl through the world,
Seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

The picture is taken from here.

A Little Thought...

A little thought...

May today there be peace within you.
May you trust God
that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
"I believe that friends are quiet angels who lift
us to our feet when our wings have trouble
remembering how to fly."

GMail!!

Me too!
I, and two friends of mine also, have to thank Melody for the Gmail invites.
Gmail is the new Google mail system that gives you 1GB of space and the power of Google Search Engine to find the right mail.
At the moment the system is in a beta test phase so you must have an invite to create a mailbox.
Here there are more information.
I've tried it and I think is a completely new great way to manage a lot of mails. What about a mail client software with the same concept? (No folders, powerful search engine, etc...)
Privacy and ads? I think this is not a problem at all. Google says it's (obviously) all automated and nobody can read users' mails (This seems to me like discovering the hot water).
As every other mail service.

SETI@home

You probably know all about the scientific experiment called "SETI@home" (Where SETI means "The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence").
They collect radio signals' data from the Arecibo Observatory's Radiotelescope (check here for more images) and, after, they analyse them, looking for an intelligent signal from the unknown space!
The great part of the story is that everbody can help them to do this hard work simply downloading a small free software (look at the screenshot below).

I stop here with the description because you can find all the information you need on their site.
I've joined the experiment few days ago and I'm really satisfied collaborating with this dreaming* project!

* "Dreaming" means that SETI@home lets me dream about what's happening now in the unknown space.

Dionea Muscipula

She's my Dionea Muscipula. She hasn't got a name yet (feel free to suggest!).
I've found many very interesting information in this site: PianteCarnivore.tk (in italian, learning languages is useful, but there is also an international webring at the bottom of the page).
As you certainly know, you have not to feed your plant, but I've found a natural way to do this!
I put her out of my window in the sun when I wake up and I take her in before sleeping. So, when it's dark out side and I've the light on inside, a lot of bugs came to my window, but they're stopped by the mosquito net and stay there, near my plant!
And yes... she eats!

iBook

To Mac or not to Mac... this is the problem...
I'm a long time Windows user and I'm trying to figure out something about a Mac.
I know the only way is to try it out... but... sometime I think that 1500€ is too much for a try...
I've read a lot of switchers' opinions and I've spent one hour in a shop "playing" with an iBook... amazing... but it's hard to discover the way...
